Architectural History Minor

Kayak Center and Public Pavillion on Lazaretto Creek

Assignment: A Kayak Center Located on Lazaretto Creek in Savannah, Ga.

Challenges: Marsh Site, Changing tides, Public Space.

Progress: In the form ideation stage. I am figuring out how to have a meaningful form with a functional program for people interested in kayaking or just there to hang out.

Path Designed for spectators to be able to walk over the water and experience a different path at different tides. The paths from being interlinked with the moon phases represent how people can be mindfully impacted by the position of the moon and the purpose of their venture to the marsh.

Practice models at 1/8 scale for a walkway enclosure connecting two river and city-level streets (25' vertical differences). The idea of the assignment is to embrace the principle of light and play with how that can transform a simple transition space. The final Model is 1/4 scale and is featured at the bottom of the page.
